Yoga Integrative Psychotherapy

Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, the effects of trauma, or relationship issues- you can be certain that the reverberations are felt well beyond our intellectual, "thinking" mind.  The mind and body are inseparable, and thus our mental and emotional challenges have accompanying experiences in our body.  Some examples of discomfort related to emotional stress may include: chest tightness, difficulty breathing, shoulder/muscle tension, restless legs, headaches, migraines, insomnia, heart palpitations, fatigue, digestive problems, and many more.  Working ONLY with our thoughts and ignoring the experiences in our bodies is often not enough to yield deep and lasting healing.

Perhaps you have been in therapy before and made great progress, but months or years later you find yourself falling into the same negative space.  Despite the tools and logical knowledge you have gained, you have trouble implementing it consistently, and continue to have the sense that there is more work to be done.

This is where yoga integrative psychotherapy can be instrumental to engaging mind, body, and spirit in the healing process to achieve lasting healing and optimal wellness.

Erin integrates yoga philosophy, pranayama (breathwork), asana (poses), and meditation into therapy sessions, and encourages clients to establish a home practice as well.  Whether you are an experienced practitioner or brand new to the concepts of yoga and meditation, Erin will integrate yoga into your treatment to the degree that you are comfortable.  Please contact us to learn more!
