Shannon is a relational and trauma-informed therapist who offers an authentic, compassionate approach rooted in psychodynamic principles. She focuses on understanding how past experiences and early relationships shape present behaviors. Shannon uses a person-centered approach that prioritizes cultural awareness and integrates diverse techniques tailored to each client's unique needs. She supports adults facing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and grief.

Specializing in altered states of consciousness, Shannon provides preparation and integration support for psychedelic and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. She believes in the healing potential of individuals and natural medicines. Shannon is certified in integrative somatic trauma therapy and holds certifications from UC Berkeley in Psychedelics and the Mind, as well as the EMBARK Approach.

Her goal is to create a collaborative, safe, and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward a more fulfilling life. In a culture demanding constant productivity and positivity, Shannon provides space for clients to experience all their feelings without judgment. She builds therapeutic relationships that honor autonomy, support clients as they heal, and help them navigate bodily signals before reaching burnout, panic, or overwhelm.

Shannon's eclectic theoretical approach blends psychodynamic, somatic, CBT, and parts work orientations. She explores the unconscious mind, past experiences, and the impact of early relationships on current emotional and behavioral patterns. Believing in the mind-body connection, Shannon incorporates mindfulness and body awareness techniques to help clients regulate their emotions. As a multicultural clinician, she emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting the diverse backgrounds of her clients to provide culturally sensitive care. Shannon adapts and integrates various techniques based on each client's unique needs, ensuring personalized and effective treatment.

Shannon is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. She sees clients in person in Frederick and Baltimore, as well as virtually.
