Sara Kuperman
LCSW-C
Sara often says that providing therapy is like being a GPS: The client chooses the destination and selects the route. The therapist provides guidance, makes occasional suggestions, and keeps you on course to get where you want to go. Ultimately, you need to drive the car. And don’t worry, you get to choose the playlist, too. Sara’s approach to therapy is practical and collaborative, focusing on helping you find and define your direction in life and move towards it with intention.
Sara’s background is in working with clients managing chronic and acute illnesses, clients from the LGBTQIA+ community, and sexual health. Sara knows that she is not the expert on your life or experiences and relishes the opportunity to learn about each of her clients as an individual, not as a statistic. Sara will listen to you and your goals and work together with you to build skills and develop an action plan.
Sara obtained her Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland in Baltimore and is trained in trauma-informed care and creating LGBTQIA+ safe spaces.
“The most important step a [person] can take. It’s not the first one, is it? It’s the next one. Always the
next step.” – Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer
